Employment Practices Coverage

Employment-related lawsuits are the fastest-growing type of civil litigation in the United States. Insureds need to be aware of this exposure and plan for the future. Physicians Insurance offers the following services to meet our members’ human resource needs:

Employment Practices Defense (EPD) coverage provides up to $25,000 per insured event for the defense of employment-related claims, with a $1,000 deductible. Because it is built into each insured’s policy, there is no extra charge for this coverage.

Our insureds have members-only access to useful updates and comparisons on federal and state laws, state compliance guides, forms, posters, job descriptions, and more.

Upgraded coverage for employment-related lawsuits is available through our Agency for an additional premium. The Employment Practices Liability (EPL) policy provides:

• Broad Coverage for employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and hostile work environment
• Third-party claims coverage
• Expanded HReSource tools, including online training programs and audio conferences
• Unlimited access to employment attorneys and online contact with forms, checklists, federal and state updates, and HR Express updates
• Sublimit of $100,000 for employment liability claims arising from the actions of a state-approved CQIP (Coordinated Quality Improvement Program).
